I certainly don't regret investing in the beautiful Analogue Pocket. It's such a high quality device that has really replaced all my other retro handheld devices.
The build quality is instantly notable and the high quality screen just makes everything look beautiful and vibrant.
I was put off in getting the official dock by what I perceived as a high price for something I didn't think I'd really get much use from. However after discovering that many more cores had been released since the last time I looked, I wanted to experiences things like the Amiga and arcade games on the big screen and ideally with a second player
I remember growing up and vividly how exciting a trip to the arcade would be. This was well before the days of the internet and you just didn't know what you'd discover.
Walking down the aisles and being bombard by the bright colours of the attract screens with their blaring music and sound effects all competing for your attention (and cash) was really quite something.
Unfortunately I rarely had enough money for more than a go or two on anything, which always made playing the games feel like a real treat.
One game I don't remember seeing at the arcade was Aliens vs Predator from Capcom, so it was a real delight to experience through my Analogue Pocket at home on the big screen.
Thankfully the arcade core supports multiple players, so I was able to enjoy working through the game with my youngest. Being able to pop in infinite credits certainly helps in getting through the game!
It's funny to imagine how my younger self would have reacted to being told that one day he'd be able to play these arcades games at home on a little portable device plugged into a large flat screen TV. What a time to be alive!
